Whoo boy, do we have a history!

The business started in 1962 as The Silver Dollar, when the original proprietor, George Prosser, moved the historic 1920’s era front and back bar fixtures to our High Street location, where they live today. It operated until 1997, when Mount Vernon locals Jeff Boucher, Andrea Franz, Ken Nugent and Bob Hudson purchased the business and renamed it Flappers. The name was chosen to honor the style of building, and the original bar and fixtures. And with a name like Flappers, you know it’s nothing but fun! After three months of restoration, including the original hardwood floors and tin ceiling, Flappers is a place that lives up to it’s name.

Now, under ownership of Erron Porter, Norman Porter, and Steve Oster, a new era of great times has begun!

Flappers is more than just a modern speakeasy. Stop by for lunch or dinner, and sample our famous Flappers Wings and Mount Vernon favorite Mazza’s Salad. Try your hand at a game of pool at our regulation pool table. Have your next birthday, holiday or company party at our Party Room – comfortably seating up to sixty people. And be sure to check out our live entertainment, always sure to please.

No matter what, we’re sure you’ll love Flappers just as much as we do!
